1 cup butter 1 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cream of tartar 1 tsp vanilla 3 cups flour (type?)
Extra flour for cutting. Decorations
Cream butter, add sugar and cream well. Add eggs, beat well. mix in dry ingredients. Roll to desired thickness (usually 1/8"). Flour surface, use cookie cutters, transfer to ungreased baking sheet. Decorate.
Bake 375 for 8-10 minutes or until very lightly browned.
