So there's two parts : a tube of yellow and green split peas, and a packet of flavoring.

You cook the yellow and green split peas forever.

And then you add in the flavoring packet ... mostly msg and celery salt.

And some sort of thickener.

It's crazy how good it is, when cooked long enough. And it's real, actual food! It starts with peas!


This is a soup to leave on the stove to help protect the sanity of fragile people.  So if someone is a little challenged, you can say : "Hey, can you do me a favor? Can you give the soup a stir? Maybe add a cup of water, if it's too thick?"  And then they stir the soup, and it's steamy and delicious smelling and they think : "Hey! When I come back down, I can eat some of this."  And stuff goes better.
